IIT Gandhinagar Recruitment 2020:Applicants invited for the job post for  05 JRF positions for the project “Establishing the State Climate Change Centre (SCCC) in the State of Gujarat” under the National Mission On Strategic Knowledge for Climate Change (NMSKCC).   • Forests and Biodiversity – 02 JRFs
  • Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency – 01 JRF
About the Project

The project activities will jointly carry out at the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) and Gujarat Ecological Education and Research (GEER) Foundation, Gandhinagar. Since this is a multidisciplinary project, candidates will have the opportunity to interact with faculty members and researchers with specialization in different aspects of climate change and its impacts.

Eligibility

Water Resources/Agriculture/GIS/Photogrammetry analyst: The eligibility criteria for this post must be at least a Postgraduate degree in Earth Sciences/Environmental Sciences/Agriculture Science Hydrology/Climate change/Geospatial Engineering/Statistics or related area, or a graduate/post-graduate degree in Civil Engineering/Environmental Engineering/ Hydrology/ Remote Sensing & GIS or related area.

Forests and Biodiversity: At least an MSc in Ecology/ Wildlife Sci/ Forestry/ Botany/ Zoology/ Life Science or equivalent with valid GATE/ NET cards OR selected through valid national level examinations conducted by various GoI level scientific / research institutes

Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency: Graduate/post-graduate degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical or Environmental Engineering or related areas. Candidates with experience/demonstrated interests in energy systems and/ or thermal and fluid sciences will be preferred.

Also, the Candidates should have valid GATE/NET card. Moreover, Candidates selected through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institution such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc will also be considered.

Responsibilities

JRF will work in their particular focus area of the project. It expected that JRFs will also interact with other project staff members (RA and JRFs working in the different thematic areas) and help each other to achieve the desired results in this multidisciplinary project. The project work will provide a good learning opportunity to all JRFs to understand various aspects of climate change impacts.

Salary

Salary: Rs. 31000 (+ HRA, if applicable)

Duration

Total project duration is five years. All positions will be for one-year duration, which can be extended up to a maximum duration of one more year (upto March, 2022) on the basis of satisfactory performance and availability of project fund.
