ISRO Online Course: ISRO organizing an Online Course on a premier Training and Educational Institute set up for developing trained professionals in the field of Remote Sensing, Geoinformatics, and GNSS Technology for Natural Resources, Environmental, and Disaster Management. So The Indian Institute of Remote Sensing Applications (IIRS) and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) are together organizing an Online Course on Remote Sensing of Land Degradation from December 1 to 7, 2020.

  • Secondly, Remote Sensing of Soil Erosion
  • Thirdly, Remote Sensing of Salt-affected Soils : Optical & Microwave
  • Fourthly, Remote Sensing of Vegetal Degradation and Desertification
  • Last, Mitigating Land Degradation and Land Restoration

So this Course study materials like lecture slides, video recorded lectures, open source software & handouts of demonstrations, etc. available through e-class.

Who can Attend?

This course designed for professionals from Central/ State Govt./ state watershed directorates/ Private Organizations/ NGO engaged in land degradation mapping as well as management and also planning/ students & researchers aligned or engaged in various aspects of land management, mitigating degradation as well as land restoration.

The course participants have to be duly sponsored by their university/ institution and application should be forwarded through coordinators from respective Organisations/ Centres. Users attending programs under CEC-UGC / CIET / other networks can also participate. Institutions on high speed National Knowledge Network (NKN) can also participate.
